When: Wednesday, 25 April, 2001 Where: Martha's Exchange, 2nd Floor Time: 19:00 (Dinner @ 18:00, RSVP offline please) Who: Brian Waite of CSPI (see http://www.fascluster.com) Topic: "Archetecture of an Embedded Supercomputer". CSPI builds Quad PowerPC based VME boards that now support Linux. With these boards CSPI builds clusters that are extremely dense, about 1 terraFLOP in an 2' X 8' rack. Brian has been porting Linux to this hardware and also developing the boot methodology such that a system of 200+ G4 processor can come up in only a couple minutes. Please RSVP to me by 24 April if you plan on coming for dinner so I can make the appropriate reservations. Thanks, -- Paul Lussier Chairman, Nashua Chapter, GNHLUG Senior Systems and Network Engineer Mission Critical Linux, Inc. ********************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list, send mail to majordomo@zk3.dec.com with the following text in the *body* (*not* the subject line) of the letter: unsubscribe gnhlug-announce **********************************************************
