There was a LOT of interest in doing a day-long seminar on this topic. So, based on the feedback, I have decided to offer an intensive one-day program. The seminar would go way beyond just using VFP and Web Connect for developing web applications. The course would be held at the Burlington, MA Marriot on May 5th, 2001. The following topics would be covered: Intro to HTML: What is a valid HTML page? How is information displayed using HTML? What do I need for web development? What kind of machine? What Software/utilities are needed on the development machine? How is a web server configured? How is IIS setup? How is FTP setup? How is terminal services configured? What is the structure of a VFP/Web Connection application? How is it configured? How are directories setup for web development? How do you get your site into the search engines? How do you report on site traffic using the IIS logs? What you'll walk away with: A copy of my new book from Hentzenwerke publishing "WebRAD" Which covers the above material and then some! A CD with narrated videos detailing "How to configure IIS", "How to setup FTP access", "How to run site traffic reports" etc. Videos will be in either AVI or MPEG format that can be played as you are performing these steps on your own machine. Great teaching tool! A real, usable VFP/WC "task management" application. The course will focus on building an APP from scratch. The end result is an app you can put to real use right away. It is a web-based TODO list. Very handy! The course would be held at the Burlington Marriot on May 5th for a fee of $329, The program also includes a continental breakfast and 2 refreshment breaks. I will cover all the other technologies needed for new web developers to build great web applications. IIS, HTML, FTP are new pieces to the development puzzle. This seminar will save you a couple of months of work by showing how all the new pieces fit together. If you are interested, send an email to haroldc@webdataserver.com In the body, just state "SIGN ME UP!!" with any special topics you would like covered... Please include your phone number, and any questions you may have about the program. Thanks for your time!
