Meyer Billmers will discuss the features and functionality to look for in Web-based collaboration and debate whether to use a hosted service or bring it in-house. In addition, he will give a live demonstration of SiteScape Forum 5.0, web-based team collaboration software, and SiteScape Workflow, an add on to Forum. Meyer Billmers has been an active member of the computing profession for over 30 years. He currently holds the position of Corporate Technologist with SiteScape, Inc. (http://www.sitescape.com), a leader in Web-based collaboration software and services. Prior to SiteScape, Meyer was with Compaq's AltaVista product team, the Digital Equipment Corporation's Artificial Intelligence Applications Group, and the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. He has numerous patents and published articles in the fields of AI, information retrieval and online collaboration, and is a member of the IEEE Computer Society and ACM. This month's meeting will be held Tuesday, March 14, in Room E51-395, on the third floor of Building E51 at MIT's Sloan School.
