From: Paul Izbicki To: CONE-CAL@Blu.Org Subject: *CAL* change in meeting notice Date: Monday, March 06, 2000 3:24 PM You guys run a great service, I recommend it often! Please change the text for the Media100 UG meeting on Wed, Mar 8 to the following: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This month, the Boston M100 User Group meeting will be held at 7:00 on Wednesday, March 8th, at Media100 headquarters, in Marlboro! Meet and greet others at 6:30. This will be our second web streamed meeting, and will be available as a Real G2 stream in realtime, and later as high quality QT and Real progressive downloads. The URL for the meeting: http://www.Media100.com/events/boston_usergroup.html You can visit now for the archived QT download of the meeting last month. It's a large file, but it is progressive, and should start streaming quickly if you have a fast connection. The content for last month included a chat with Caren Anhder, M100 Product Manager, who told us a little about what where the product is today, where it is headed, and graciously answered a lot of pointed questions. While company policy limited her ability to directly answer questions about as-yet unreleased or unannounced features and updates, she was quite compelling in her remarks and added a new dimension to the phrase >reading between the lines<. Our thanks. The final part of the Feb. meeting was a demonstration of the new Boris RED plugin for M100. Peter McAuley, Graphic Artist and demo specialist, ran us through a very quick and comprehensive look at this multi-dimensional new compositing, layering and animation tool. A must-see. For the March meeting, after opening remarks and the usual housekeeping chores by yours truly, Charlie Mascari, Product Manager for the iFinish product line, will speak briefly on the NT product, and take questions from our audience, both at Marlborough and on the Web. The email hotline address will be posted on the website for the event. Adam Brooks, Executive Producer, will tell us about the M100 streaming initiative, and the role played by Terran Interactive's compression tool, Media Cleaner Pro. Following last month's video preview, Bill Mosher, President of the Visionaries, will host a presentation about this award winning Public Television series, created for WGBH. We'll take a look at the process of selecting candidates to profile, their educational model and intern program, and the production cycle, ending with edit on Media100. Q & A will follow, live and via hotline. We are working hard to get these meetings produced, and hope that you can all participate. Better yet, come and see it live! Please mark this meeting on your calendars. Directions follow, and if you have any questions please contact me. iPaul Directions to Media 100: Mass Pike or alternate to route 495.
