Course background: Beginning with Version 7 of SAS software, all procedures use the Output Delivery System (ODS) to manage their output. New features provided by ODS include automatic rendering of procedure output in HTML for the Web, rich-text, Postscript or PCL format, output datasets from any printed output, and ability to edit the look and feel of most reports. This one-day course is an intensive look at ODS and how to use it to solve your report formatting problems. Course objectives: Upon completion of the course, attendees should have an understanding of ODS and how to use the Output Delivery System to control the formatting and destination of their SAS output. They should also have an understanding of advanced ODS topics, including Templates and Style Sheets. The course will cover the following subject areas: 1. Introduction to ODS 2. ODS Syntax 3. Customizing Report and PROC TABULATE output 4. Customizing Graph output 5. Defining and Using ODS Templates 6. Defining and Using ODS Style Sheets 7. Generating HTML, PDF, and RTF output 8. Advanced ODS Topics The Instructor: S. David Riba is CEO of JADE Tech, Inc., a SAS Institute Quality Partner specializing entirely in applications development, consulting and training in the SAS System. He has presented papers and assisted in various capacities at SUGI, SESUG, NESUG, MWSUG, SCSUG, and PharmaSUG. Dave conducted the "Connecting with Your Data" SAS ODBC class for BASUG in 1996. We are fortunate to have him return again to Boston to teach our new class. His major areas of interest are efficient programming techniques and applications development using the SAS System. His SAS software product specialties are SAS/AF and FRAME technology, SAS/EIS, SAS/IntrNet, AppDev Studio, CFO/Vision, and the SAS Collaborative Server. Dave is a SAS Certified Professional. Dave is currently the Co-Chair of SSU 2001, the combined SouthEast and SouthCentral SAS Users Group conference to be held in New Orleans in August, 2001. Prerequisites: This course is intended for all SAS users, whether they are beginners or advanced users of SAS software. It assumes an understanding of SAS programming, however, no knowledge of ODS is required. Note: Continental breakfast will be available at 8:15. There will be mid-morning and mid-afternoon beverage breaks. Lunch is not included. Directions: The Ramada Inn is at the interchange of routes 128 & 38. From I-93, take route 128/I-95 south for two exits to route 38. Go south on 38. The first road on the right immediately after leaving the 128 cloverleaf is Middlesex Canal Park Road. Public transportation: MBTA bus route #134 stops right at the Ramada’s road.
