Date: Thu, 22 Jun 2000 03:50:53 -0700 From: "Gary S. Trujillo" Subject: AIP-Boston meeting, Wednesday, 28 June The last AIP-Boston chapter meeting before our summer break will take place this coming Wednesday, 28 June, at MIT. Our speaker for the evening will be Mark Sawyer, Senior Manager, Product Marketing for the IP Services business unit at Nortel Networks. Mark will tell why us the broadband revolution is about more than just delivering high speed connectivity. He says that broadband is revolutionary because it finally brings high speed connectivity to the mass market, eliminating the bandwidth barrier both in the core and at the edge. But if the true promise of the broadband network is to be realized, service providers need to look beyond the technology to the needs and expectations of the mass market... For a detailed description of the topic of the meeting, as well as information about getting there, please see our announcements page at "http://boston.us.association.org/meetings.html" Note that we will be in Room 190 of Building 1 this month (a new meeting place!). If you plan to attend this meeting, RSVP to Gary Trujillo (see below), so we know how much pizza and drinks to order. Also, if you are interested in joining the AIP Executive Committee in any capacity, to help us improve our services to members, as well as to have a chance to act on behalf of the chapter, which is a great way to meet people who can enhance your career opportunities, please contact Gary Trujillo (see below) as soon as possible. We hope to be able to have some behind-the-scenes meetings during the summer months in order to launch an exciting fall season of meetings and activities. We also want to be able to hold elections for the positions of president and vice-president in the fall, and need to do some planning and to provide an opportunity for interested candidates to make contact with our membership. We hope to see you next Wednesday for what promises to be a great talk! Gary S. Trujillo AIP-Boston, acting vice-president http://boston.us.association.org/ gtrujillo@association.org 617-776-0121
