Date: Thu, 16 Dec 1999 06:33:51 -0800 From: "Long, Mike" Subject: SWEQSIG: No December meeting. Next meeting 1/25/2000 Next Meeting (January): Presenter: Johanna Rothman Date & Time - Tuesday 1/25/2000, 7:30-9pm Where: Adaptec - Nashua, NH Topic: How to Use Inch-Pebbles When You Think You Can't Abstract: Inch-pebbles, or miniature milestones, are defined as a best practice, but they're not frequently used. As a consequence, our projects are more delayed, and have fewer features, and more defects than we prefer. But while inch-pebbles may be a best practice, they're not commonly used. Sometimes, people don't want to use inch-pebbles. Sometimes it's hard to figure out how to use them. Nevertheless, while inch-pebbles may not be completely appropriate for every projects phase, every project can benefit from inch-pebbles at some point in its duration. Inch-pebbles are useful when you know what you have to do. This presentation will discuss how to plan the project when you don't know everything you have to do.
