From: Robert J. Young Subject: Meeting of Access/VB User Group in North Hampton Date: Monday, January 10, 2000 6:59 PM SUBJECT: Microsoft Access User Group Time and Place: Tuesday, January 18, 2000 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at 216 Lafayette Road at the Key Computer Learning Center, across from Abercrombie and Finch Restaurant, North Hampton - 5.7 Miles south of the Portsmouth Traffic Circle on Route 1 (5.3 miles north of Hampton). Call Bob Young at 603-929-7964 (rjyoung@javanet.com) for information. Attendance is free, and no reservations are required. We start at 5:30 with networking and general discussion - attendees can bring up topics of concern, questions, announcement, etc. Program Part I Rob Weinberg, president of the MarketBuilding Team and Madison Avenue veteran, will present a case study showing how MS Access was used to expand the business of a small area firm. His application of Microsoft Access to analyze data for sales and prospect history provided a graphic portrayal of sales made and lost using maps and GIS technology. This provided the structure for a new national sales program currently being implemented in a two-year program. Sales are expected to grow by 500% during this time. Program Part II For manufacturers, Wonderware and similar products can generate large amounts of operational data stored in files. MS Access can be used to read these files, interpret time stamps, and create a process-based MRP system. The first step in doing this is to detect and examine the structure of the files. We can discuss this, or some more important topic should you have one to bring along. In March or April, Russ Fustino, Senior Techical Specialist at Microsoft, will be paying us a visit. Have you visited Russ's Toolshed at www.microsoft.com/NewEngland/developer/russtoolshed/? Please do so, and help us pick a topic. Would you prefer something related to the web such as Interdev 6.0 or XML? Or perhaps Windows 2000? Please let me know what you'd like to see. Thanks - Sincerely, Bob Young Summit Computing Associates 55 Ocean Boulevard Hampton, NH 03842 Tel 603-929-7964 rjyoung@javanet.com
