Description: Developing database-driven Internet and Intranet solutions traditionally has required multiple tools for connection to data, designing the user interfaces and generating HTML code. In addition, the demand for fast and reliable business-critical applications has increased. The AstroMark suite is a comprehensive solution for quickly and easily building robust, true WYSIWYG, database-driven World Wide Web applications. AstroMark includes an integrated visual development environment for creating both database and non-database driven web pages. AstroMark includes support for most popular database formats, a server to ensure the integrity of data to and from the database(s), and a browser which runs standalone or in tandem with popular browsers. AstroMark combines the ease of use of a visual development environment with the flexibility of a scalable data access architecture to deliver a robust development suite for true WYSIWYG database-driven Web pages. Astromark is being developed by GenoTechs, Inc. in Tempe, AZ. It has not been released yet but it is in beta test. GenoTechs is promoting AstroMark through their Web site. They provide descriptive information in both text and diagrams. I will discuss the published information and then work through some of the online demos with the group. Please be encouraged to review the information and the demos before the meeting so that the we can have an interactive group discussion. GenoTech's URL is www.linkserver.com. You will need to download the AstroMark browser to work the demos. Meeting Location: New Horizons Computer Learning Center, 5 Old Concord Road, Burlington, MA.
