Date: Mon, 14 Feb 2000 00:23:34 -0800 From: "Robert J. Young" Subject: Meeting of Microsoft User Group in North Hampton SUBJECT: Microsoft Access User Group Time and Place: Tuesday, February 15, 2000 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at 216 Lafayette Road at the Key Computer Learning Center, across from Abercrombie and Finch Restaurant, North Hampton - 5.7 Miles south of the Portsmouth Traffic Circle on Route 1 (5.3 miles north of Hampton). Call Bob Young at 603-929-7964 (rjyoung@javanet.com) for information. Attendance is free, and no reservations are required. Background: We start at 5:30 with networking and general discussion - attendees can bring up topics of concern, questions, announcement, etc. New comers can ask those sticky startup questions, or find out about the latest developments in the field. Doug Furnam will have some tricks to share with Queries. We can discuss a Human Relations Access application if you like - a resume retrieval system using keyword search featuring building a dynamic where clause which does require indexing each resume. If you know how to index a resume directly from an instance of MS Word without creating a text file, that would be a valuable contribution. Some of us will be attending the Cold Fusion user group on the 21st of Feb which is a Monday night at 6:00 PM In Burlington, MA - Cold Fusion can use either MS Access or SQL 7 as a back end, and makes extensive use of TAGS to achieve results. For the March meeting, Russ Fustino from Microsoft will be with us - If you have a preference on what he should talk to us about, now's the time to get your vote in. What would you think about XML? All the best - Bob Young Summit Computing Associates 55 Ocean Boulevard Hampton, NH 03842 Tel 603-929-7964 rjyoung@javanet.com
