Date: Wed, 2 Aug 2000 21:30:13 -0400 From: Dan Jacobs Subject: WebTech Tues 8/15 5:30 Sun Burlington Hi everybody, Our meeting this month will be on Tuesday, August 15, and will be held at Sun Microsystems in Burlington. There will be pizza (courtesy of Sun!) at 5:30, followed by the regular meeting starting at around 6:00. I realize this is early for many of you, but it's ok to arrive late (though I can't guarantee there will still be any pizza!). The presentation this month will be on the Java(tm) Message Service (JMS) architecture and API, presented by Farrukh Najmi, who is a member of Sun's JMS team. Rumor has it that other members of the team will also be there to join in the discussion (and the pizza). JMS is an important part of the Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE) that specifies a model for distributed computing based on asynchronous messaging. See http://java.sun.com/products/jms/index.html for additional information. This is sure to be a terrific meeting, so mark your calendars! I hope to see you there.
