Date: Tue, 8 Aug 2000 13:17:15 -0400 From: Patricia Hawkins Subject: Boston-voice-users 8/8/2000 meeting 7:30 pm Sorry for the late annoucement. I posted this to several lists -- late, I'm afraid but, as I just realized, failed to post to Boston-voice-users itself! The next meeting of Boston Voice Users, a group for users of speech-recognition software, will be today, Tuesday, August 8 2000, 7:30 p.m., MIT 2-143. Directions below. Note that this is a change from our usual room. We are meeting in 2-143 for July, August, and September. Patricia Hawkins and Michael Young will be doing a presentation on use of Dragon NaturallySpeaking. This was originally conceived as a new user demo, except that Michael is now an intermediate user rather than a new user. So what we do will depend on the needs of the audience. Possibilities include: showing what is involved in getting started as a new user on NatSpeak; a coaching session on Michael's current needs and problems (he is using Natspeak for email and memos, and is having a few difficulties with command and control); answering and possibily demonstrating the solutions to audience problems. Patricia is a programmer and consultant who has been using Dragon NaturallySpeaking since version 1.0 (and DragonDictate before that); Michael is a programmer who has been using NaturallySpeaking for text for several months. Directions to room: Go in the main door of MIT, at 77 Mass. Ave. Go straight down the Infinite Corridor for as long as you can. When forced to turn, go right. You'll pass one intersection decorated with murals of jungle animals, with a hallway to library on your left, and stairs on your right. 2-143 is further along. For wheelchair access: use the door at 33 Mass Ave, toward the River from the main door. There's a lift there. Please feel free to cross-post this message. _______________________________________________ Boston-voice-users maillist - Boston-voice-users@harvee.billerica.ma.us http://harvee.billerica.ma.us/mailman/listinfo/boston-voice-users
